Trout Fishing
Great mountains lifted high by mother nature’s gifted hand, carved by the ice sculptor of the north, Scotland can boast some of the oldest and most beautiful rock in the world. Locked in the crucible of a bygone age lie the purest strains of brown trout and Arctic char. Trout such as the Crocach and Gilaroo await your coming...!
Make your trip to Scotland a memorable one. Enjoy the solitude, peace and beauty of those out of the way places. Retrace the footsteps of the Victorian sporting visitor, places that you too can enjoy when trout fishing. Trout fishing is enjoying a renaissance. The Highlands of Scotland are alive with a myriad of sparkling jewels, each abound with priceless gems safe in the secret vaults of their depths. Whether it is the wild, strong fighting, free rising brown trout, with the heart of Bruce, or the solitary war horse ferox of the deep, Scottish lochs offer all. Loch fishing can be enjoyed as a solitary sport. However, we advise the services of a ghillie, who’s local knowledge will greatly improve the possibilities of success. Much local history and anecdotes will be missed without engaging their service. The company of a ghillie is always beneficial to the pleasure of the day. Many Highland Lochs have boats, from which you can fish. However, bank fishing can equally be enjoyed. Traditional fly fishing techniques have not changed for this type of fishing in the last hundred years. Flies such as Soldier Palmer, Bloody Butcher and Grouse and Claret are still regularly tried. A floating or sinking line maybe used.
