Game Shooting & Wildfowling The highlands of Scotland offers a complete game shooting package. Driven pheasant and partridge shooting together with mixed days of woodcock, snipe and rabbit can be arranged. Also popular is driven mountain hare, with bags of 100 hares being frequently taken.
The temperate winter climate provided by the Gulf stream makes Scotland a principle wintering ground for migrating wildfowl. Also migratory are the woodcock who’s jinking flight provide the most challenging of sport. Duck hunting and wildfowling is in abundance. Mallard, widgeon and teal duck, greylag and pink foot goose over winter here. Famous names such as Millias and Scott frequently wrote of the magnificence of sport available to the discerning wildfowler.
